A young robin got stuck in our garage. Birds always seem to think that flying up will get them out. It made for a nice opportunity to get a close up shot. Due to the low light I used a shutter speed of 1/2 second and braced myself on the car to avoid camera shake. After taking a few pictures I finally got it to fly out when it landed on the car. I came at it with a butterfly net in the direction of the garage door and from above to make sure it would stay low enough to get out.

Image Links

For landscapes I am using Panoramio. When you click on the image it takes you to the Panoramio page. This allows you to see where the photo was taken on a Google Map. For a larger image you can click on the photo there. For other images I’m just hosting them myself. Clicking on these images will give you the larger photo.

For my first image I am posting a landscape. I held the camera above my head to get this shot between the plants. The growth was pretty thick around the bench where this was taken. The ground was also eroding on one side making the bench close to falling into the water. I was attempting to get the greatest depth of field for this shot by closing the aperture as much as my camera would allow.

Check out the main website homepage. The three main sections are dedicated to golf, racing, and bowling computer simulations. There are also a few pages for some other random interests of mine.

About this Blog

This blog features random photos I take. There’s no specific theme other then to show off what I think are interesting pictures. I’ll note any points of interest about how the shots are taken and when images are touched up I’ll also note any work done. I’m currently using a Canon PowerShot SX10 to take most of the shots.
